Impact of continuous climb operations on airport capacity

•This paper analyse the impact of CCO on the theoretical capacity of airports. CCO avoid conflicts with other departures based on new runway separation minima.•CD&R algorithm ensure conflict-free CCO with arrivals by delaying CCO take-off.•Monte Carlo simulations analyse scheduling combinations depending on the CCO Rate.•The results show a 32% reduction in the maximum theoretical capacity with a CCO Rate of 100%.•It is possible for all departures to be CCO and conflict free with optimised scheduling.
