Here, a new seismic data acquisition with the combination of surface and crosshole seismic survey was adopted, aimed at reducing the geophone coupling difference and obtaining the reliable near-surface Q. Around the source hole, several receiver holes were drilled, of which depths are based on the projected depths of geophone in the subsurface. To ensure all the geophones have the same coupling response and avoid the effect of geophone coupling on Q estimation, only one geophone was planted at the bottom of each receiver hole. On this basis, we proposed a novel method to estimate near-surface absorption without the effects of source couplings through tomographic inversion. Then two different frequency bands were used on field data to estimate absorption parameters. The results prove that the near-surface absorption is far larger than that of subsurface layers, which shows the necessity of near surface compensation to restore seismic resolution. In addition, two different Qs obtained by two different frequency bands demonstrate that the Q is frequency-dependent.Presentation Date: Tuesday, October 16, 2018Start Time: 9:20:00 AMLocation: Poster Station 5Presentation Type: PosterKeywords: near surface, attenuation, Q, acquisitionPermalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2018-2962035.1FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byA numerical dispersion‐suppressed method for shallow seismic migration18 December 2020 | Near Surface Geophysics, Vol. 19, No. 1 SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2018ISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2018 Pages: 5520 publication data© 2018 Published in electronic format with permission by the Society of Exploration GeophysicistsPublisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished Online: 27 Aug 2018 CITATION INFORMATION Hao Zheng, (2018), "Near-surface Q tomography via the combination of surface and crosshole seismic survey," SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 2737-2741. https://doi.org/10.1190/segam2018-2962035.1 Plain-Language Summary Keywordsnear surfaceattenuationQacquisitionPDF DownloadLoading ...
