摘要

•To test corrosion and loading on mechanical properties of steel and H-section beam (HSB).•Model of ultimate bearing capacity of HSB was established via BP neural network.•Coupling effect rendered aggravated corrosion of HSB, affecting nominal strength.•Bearing capacity was dependent on both corrosion rate and loading ratio.
