Use of a UAV as an acoustic communication relay system

One of the main pillars for a successful network of heterogeneous autonomous vehicles are communications. Our premise is to reinforce this baseline, by empowering a UAV system to become a bridging node between all AUV systems, human operators, and other ad-hoc elements.Moreover, by delving into acoustic communications, it was possible to display solid data regarding the validity of this approach. It is our strong belief that, this kind of developments will help evolve and adapt, the various stages of a mission, to accommodate the ever-growing maritime environments challenges. The results of the work presented, confirm that expanding on this topic, will lead to a successful and meaningful addition to every system currently deployed in this field.
