Abstract
Th2-skewed immunity in cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL) poses a major clinical challenge and implements a tendency for significant local (skin) and systemic infections with subsequent sepsis. In addition to a global Th2 bias, recent research shows suppressed IL-12-mediated signal transduction in T cells from patients with Sèzary syndrome, associated with the absence of IL-12 receptor beta, but also with decreased IL-12 levels in advanced stage of the disease.
