Abstract
Transportation system is a hybrid system which are random, fuzzy and uncertain in characteristics. There are continuous part of real-time change of traffic, again there is a discrete part of the phase transition. In this paper, take typical intersection and four-phase traffic signal controlling as example, set up a hybrid automata model based on the theory of hybrid, and puts forward a new optimization method to control traffic lights. Using the number of vehicles waiting at intersections in a count cycle as objective function, an optimal traffic signal splits is presented based on the optimal control of state machine, the optimal ratio of green and the best signal cycle are determined. In the end of the paper, the simulation model is established .The results show that the method can achieve the best signal cycle and realize the optimal control of transportation system.
