Aim: Non-esterified fatty acids (FFA) are commonly elevated in diabetes and obesity impairing endothelial functions and promoting oxidative stress, inflammation, and insulin resistance. The fatty acid-binding protein (FABP4) is a biologically active and fatty acids carrier protein that can modulate endothelial cell function. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of blocking FABP4 cellular uptake in palmitate-stressed endothelial cells.
