摘要
The present paper focuses on the design of ultra wide band (UWB) antenna using sierpinski carpet fractal structure as a tuning-stub in the coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed microstrip conducting patch. CPW feed is employed to enhance the impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna. Similarly, implementation of fractal geometry in tuning stub is used for its miniaturization (20.98% for second iteration). In an attempt to further increase the bandwidth of the proposed antenna, Particle Swarm optimization (PSO) method is employed to optimize the proposed structure. The obtained results establish that the antenna functions in the 3.90 GHz to 15.82 GHz band. Having a meander line slot etched on the feed line, a frequency notched characteristics at 11.62 GHz (11.33-11.90 GHz) is obtained.
