Square array of air-cooled condensers to improve thermo-flow performances under windy conditions

•A square array of air-cooled condensers (ACCs) is proposed.•Hot plume recirculation in the peripheral condenser cells is well restrained.•Off-axis of airflows in the upwind condenser cells is improved for proposed array.•Thermo-flow performances of proposed array are enhanced for most cases.•Proposed array can be applied to direct dry cooling system in power plants.
