Facile fabrication of p-type Al 2 O 3 /carbon nanocomposite films using molecular layer deposition

•Alucone thin films are fabricated by molecular layer deposition.•Alucone containing hydroquinone moiety shows enhanced stability under humidity.•Annealing of alucone under vacuum generates Al2O3/carbon composite thin films.•The conversion and properties of the composite material is studied in detail.•Al2O3/carbon composite shows p-type conducting behavior.
