Abstract
•Comparative expression profiles on transcription factors were conducted in the roots of tung tree.•A large fraction of the 959 pairs of one-to-one orthologous transcription factors shared similar expression patterns.•Differentially expressed transcription factors was discovered in a significant repression pattern in two Vernicia species.•Co-expression network analysis further identified a novel VmB3-01 may play significant roles in tung oil tree resistance breeding.
