摘要
Galectin-3 (gal-3) has recently been shown to mediate insulin resistance in mice. Its deletion leads to insulin sensitization while its excess is associated with insulin resistance. We, thus, undertook an investigation into its role in the reversal of insulin resistance in three human models of insulin sensitization: (1) 6 months following bariatric surgery (RYGB) and weight loss in patients with morbid obesity; there was a reduction in BMI from 52.1±4.8 to 40.4±4.0 kg/m 2 (p Disclosure P.
