The Zhayao tectonic window of the Jurassic Yuantai thrust system in Liaodong Peninsula, NE China: Geometry, kinematics and tectonic implications

•Cross-cutting relationship and age of intrusion reveal Late Jurassic thrusting in Liaodong Peninsula.•Three-dimensional structural and borehole data on tectonic windows indicate top-to-the-SE kinematics.•We propose a retroarc thrust belt during Late Jurassic paleo-Pacific subduction.
