Synthesis and Toxicity of Complexes of Cu(II), Co(II) and Mn(II) with a2(4-nitrophenyl)-4.5-diphenyl-1H-immidazole Ligand

Copper(II), cobalt(II), and manganese(II) complexes with 2(4-nitrophenyl)-4.5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole ligand have been successfully synthesized. The molecular formula for the formed complex compounds are [Cu(2(4-nitrophenyl)-4.5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole)2], [Co(2(4- nitrophenyl)-4.5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole)3] and [Mn(2(4-nitrophenyl)-4.5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole)3] complexes. This was confirmed by the results of the characterization of the CHN analyzer and AAS spectrometry. The FTIR characterization showed the presence of a distinct vibration spectrum of Cu-O, Co-O and Mn-O. Toxicity tests of the complex compounds [Cu(2(4-nitrophenyl)-4.5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole)2], [Co(2(4-nitrophenyl)-4.5- diphenyl-1H-imidazole)3] and [Mn(2(4-nitrophenyl)-4.5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole)3] was done with BSLT method and showed the LC50 values of 229.66 ppm; 265.79 ppm; 182.79 ppm meaning that [Mn(2(4-nitrophenyl)-4.5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole)3] is toxic compound.
