•Phase separation solvent enables to reduce the temperature difference between absorber and desorber.•The low temperature swing process economizes the energy requirement for the CO2 capture with reaction-heat recovery.•The energy requirement was estimated to be as low as 1.6 GJ/ton-CO2.
