Abstract
Background: Environmental contamination increases healthcare-associated infection risk. Effective cleaning and disinfection (C/D) practices of high-touch surfaces (HTS) can decrease that risk. Little is known about environmental C/D practices in critical access hospitals (CAH) and long-term care facilities (LTCF). Therefore, we compared C/D practices in these facilities before and after implementing an audit and feedback program.
