Lanthanide pyrazolecarboxylates for OLEDs and bioimaging

Novel materials based on lanthanide complexes with six pyrazolecarboxylates were obtained. They possess high solubility due to the purposeful introduction of the nitrogen heteroatom in α-position to the carboxy-group, and their luminescence quantum yields reach 100%. High absorption and non-toxicity allowed their successful use for bioimaging in cellulo. While the special approach to electron transport enhancement allowed using them as OLED emission materials.
