Do Long-Acting Injectable Antipsychotics Reduce Readmission Rates To Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitals?

Prior studies have suggested that long-acting injectable (LAI) antipsychotics may be associated with lower rehospitalization rates than oral antipsychotics. The current study examined the impact of 2 of our most commonly used LAI antipsychotics versus their oral formulations in psychiatric inpatients admitted to an acute, inner-city, academic psychiatric hospital.
