Rcs Reduction Using Aperiodic Modulated Artificial Magnetic Conductor

摘要
This research work is proposed at reducing the radar cross section (RCS) of patch antenna by employing aperiodic modulated metasurface, while conserving the antenna radiation performance at the same time. The operating frequency of this design is 10.5 GHz. Furthermore, the aperiodic modulated metasurface is achieved by modulating the dimension of unit cell of metasurface structure. The design is aimed at reducing metal compared to conventional design. Remarkable RCS reduction is realized for operating frequency 6 GHz to 14 GHz. RCS reduction for both polarizations is below 40 dB for required frequency bandwidth. The design is simulated on HFSS v.16.
