Cause of Death Among Bridge to Transplant and Destination Therapy LVAD Patients in a Large, Single Center Cohort

The cause of death on LVAD support can be due to complications of mechanical support, ongoing heart failure, or non-cardiac causes. We hypothesized that cardiac causes would be more frequent in the destination therapy (DT) population who do not have an option for cardiac transplantation.
