摘要

•Structure and magnetic properties of Co films irradiated by Xe ions were studied.•The effects of crystalline or pre-amorphized interface structure was included.•Damage induced in Co layers is strongly influenced by the interface structure.•Structural changes are accompanied by different magnetic properties of Co films.
