Variability in Anticoagulation Practices With the Impella Percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device: A Survey of High-volume Centers
JOURNAL OF HEART AND LUNG TRANSPLANTATION(2018)
摘要
Following insertion of an Impella percutaneous ventricular assist device, a heparinized purge solution is recommended by the manufacturer to prevent device thrombosis. Systemic anticoagulation with intravenous heparin is also recommended for extended support, thus many patients receive two sources of heparin at varying rates and concentrations. The purpose of this study was to assess variability in anticoagulation practices among high-volume centers via survey.
