Synthesis, structure-activity relationship and evaluation of new non-polymeric chemical additives based on naphthoquinone derivatives as wax precipitation inhibitors and pour point depressants to petroleum

•Seven new naphthoquinone esters were synthesized in excellent yields (84–97%).•New non-polymeric chemical additives for petroleum based on naphthoquinone were developed.•Rational design and study of the structure-activity relationship was performed.•Excellent results as WAT inhibitors and pour point depressants were obtained.•X-ray diffractions, DSC, TG and molecular modeling studies were realized.
