Abstract
Nitrogen release characteristics of coated slow-release fertilizer containing urease inhibitor (N-butyl phosphorothioate NBPT) and nitrification inhibitor (dicyandiamide, DCD) and coated slow-release fertilizer in the absence of inhibitor and the effects of coated slow-release fertilizers on yield, utilization rate of fertilizer and concentrations of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in cabbage were studied. The results showed that in three different soil, nitrogen release amount was in order of Ordinary compound fertilizer > Mixed compound fertilizer > Commercial slow-release fertilizer > Coated slow-release fertilizer with urease and nitrification inhibitors for cabbage > Coated slow-release fertilizer for cabbage. The amount of nitrogen release of different treatments in three soil types showed alkaline soil>neutral soil>acid soil. Cubic polynomial well characterized the release of different forms of nitrogen. Two coated slow-release fertilizers for cabbage were significantly increased the yield of cabbage by 15.14, 14.68% and 10.89, 10.45% compared with treatments of Ordinary compound fertilizer and Mixed compound fertilizer, respectively. The nitrogen utilization rates of two kinds of coated slow-release fertilizers for cabbage were higher than other treatments by 13.22-24.82 percentage points and 8.4-20 percentage points. The special coated slowrelease fertilizer with urease and nitrification inhibitors not only had the outer membrane to delay the nitrogen release, but also had inhibitors to slow down nitrogen release speed, which increased utilization of nitrogen and yield of cabbage.
