Extraction of oxygenated compounds from crude citrus latifolia peel oil using ethanol/water mixtures as solvents: Phase equilibrium and continuous equipment operation

•Acid lime essential oil was fractionated using ethanol/water mixtures as solvents.•Experimental liquid-liquid equilibrium data were obtained.•Phase compositions predicted by the NRTL model exhibited satisfactory results.•PRDC was used for the fractionation and the process was simulated by Aspen Plus®.•6- and 8-fold were experimentally reached using ethanol 40 and 50% w/w water.
