Abstract
The cover picture shows self-assemblies of diacylthioureas with CuI halides to give discrete supramolecular CuI complexes of the binuclear, trinuclear or tetranuclear core composition, depending on the position of the substituted group in the phenylene ring, the steric bulk of the flanks, and the type of halide. Among them, the use of diacylthiourea 1,4-C6H4[C(O)NHC(S)NHAr]2 (Ar = 2,6-iPr2C6H3) (L) afforded the binuclear complexes (LCuX)2 (X = Cl, Br, I), which possess the metallamacrocyclic ring within the structure, resembling the figures of the dragon-chasing-pearl layout in Chinese traditional art. Details are discussed in the article by Xianhui Hou, Fanfan Wang and Herbert W. Roesky et al on page 142 ff.
