Abstract
This study aimed to explore the characteristics of corncob gasification in the low-tar compound fixed-bed pilot reactor. The effects of secondary airflow on the temperature of the reforming area and the calorific value of the gas, the influences of temperature on gas components and tar cracking, and the temperature distribution in the reactor under steady conditions were investigated. The results indicated that the secondary airflow and temperature of the reforming area were positively correlated; a negative correlation was found with the calorific value of the gas. The high temperature of the reforming area could remarkably promote tar cracking and yielded gas with a high calorific value. The temperature of the reactor distributed reasonably, the stability of the chemical reaction equilibrium inside the reactor was achieved and the gasification efficiency was as high as 75.5%.
