Abstract
To explore the effects of the shock absorber asymmetry on vibration responses of seat-occupant system, this paper takes a scissor type of driver seat for construction vehicles as the research object and creates its nonlinear vibration equation. In the equation, the damping characteristics curve of the seat shock absorber is simplified as an asymmetrical piecewise linear function. Then, the vibration responses of the occupant and the seat with different damping characteristics are numerically simulated under the pulse excitation with different intensities. By contrast, the results show that it is more conducive to attenuate the impact of the cab floor on the seat-occupant system when the rebound damping is greater than the compression damping.
