Abstract
Nowadays, according to the importance of data security, researches on image encryption algorithms based on chaotic systems and XOR function, have been considered increasingly. On the other hand, an appropriate hardware implementation for these algorithms has always been a big challenge for researchers and designers. In this paper an ultrahigh speed and low power chaos-based image encryption system based on carbon nanotube technology is presented by using our provided current mode approximated XOR circuit; Therefore, in proposed encryption system in order to encrypt the images, chaos parameter values are extracted and used in mentioned approximated XOR circuit, after a series of mathematical operations on the key and initial values which are based on logistic map function. A large variety of experiments are done on the proposed approximated XOR and also algorithm security. Analysis and its performance on different images confirm that the system have a high speed and high security as well as low power consumption in encryption subjects such as secure internet multimedia or medical image encryption/decryption applications.
