Peak detection of TOF-SIMS using continuous wavelet transform and curve fitting

•A method for peak detection in time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry is proposed.•The half-width of peaks is estimated by the continuous wavelet transform.•The method is evaluated by simulated spectra and real spectra.•The method has better performance on overlapping peaks and better resistance to noise.
