摘要

•One novel fluorescent probe HHBD bearing pyrrole moiety was developed.•HHBD can detect Cu2+efficiently and selectively.•The response time of HHBD with Cu2+ was less than 1 min.•The detection mechanism of HHBD to Cu2+ was investigated.
