摘要

•A DMPC/PDA biomimetic assembly is reported as a colorimetric and fluorescent sensory platform for progesterone.•Progesterone was detected exclusively among 10 different steroid compounds using the biomimetic membrane interface.•The triggering effect of progesterone on DMPC/PDA membrane mimetic system was evaluated using various analytical tools.
