Abstract
•Different n-butanol-diesel blends were studied in reactivity controlled combustion.•n-Butanol addition decreased slightly the indicated thermal efficiency.•Optimum value of premixed ratio was reduced by increasing n-butanol in the mixture.•Higher rate of n-butanol improved the premixed combustion stage and CO oxidation.
