Abstract
•HR-XPS, TPD and NEXAFS study of C2H4, C6H6 and C6H12 adsorbed on monolayer Mo2C•Detailed analysis of the reaction pathway for all molecules•Higher reactivity of Mo2C concerning C2H4 and C6H6 reaction compared to rare platinum group metals•No reaction but complete desorption for C6H12 in contrast to rare platinum group metals.
