Abstract
With the capacity of grid connected renewable power generation increases, the issue of STVS should be taken seriously. Therefore, a method for rapid assessment of the STVS of power systems is proposed in this paper. To begin with, a continuous, quantified short-term voltage stability index (STVSI) is proposed to describe whether a certain voltage curve is stable or not. Secondly, a database which contains numerous cases of operational scenarios of a power system together with the simulation and analyzing results of these scenarios is established. Finally, the target operational scenario is fitted by the scenarios stored in the database, such that the STVS of this target operational scenarios can be rapidly evaluated.
