Gold-coated nanostructured carbon tape for rapid electrochemical detection of cadmium in rice with in situ electrodeposition of bismuth in paper-based analytical devices

•Conductive carbon tape was sputtered with gold with just 10 s for detection of Cadmium.•Au-modified Nanostructure of carbon tape for improvement of stripping analysis of Cadmium.•Rice with 0.2 g could be used for detection of Cadmium with about one-hour heating.•This approach could be used for rapid quantification of Cadmium in rice.
