Abstract
Background: Hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) causes cerebral infarctions often in arterial border zones of the cerebral hemispheres. As possible mechanisms, cardiogenic cerebral embolism from Loffler endocarditis and cerebrovascular endothelial toxicity of eosinophils are suggested.
