A review of outcomes of Major Head and Neck Surgery in patients over 80 years between 1997- 2016 in East Kent

Background: The elderly in often more frail with a greater predisposition for associated co-morbidities than the general population, placing them at significant risk of morbidity and mortality from major surgery and prolonged anaesthetic. However, not operating can condemn them to painful and difficult deaths.
