Abstract
•A novel paper-plastic hybrid device was developed to amplify and to detect DNA.•We used polyethersulfone paper embedded with a polymethyl methacrylate to fabricate the device.•The device was successfully used to simultaneously amplify and detect the DNA.•The sensitivity of the device is high with a detection limit (LOD) of 1 fg/μL for the target DNA.
