Neuromodulative Facilitation Of The Supplementary Motor Area By Near Infrared Spectroscopy-Mediated Neurofeedback Could Enhance The Efficacy Of Intensive Rehabilitation For Degenerative Cerebellar Ataxia

Background: Degenerative cerebellar ataxia is the progressive and intractable neurological disorder, but recent findings suggested the efficacy of intensive rehabilitation. Considering the previous findings that functional recovery after rehabilitation is associated with functional reorganization of the brain network, it is hypothesized that neuromodulation techniques could be used as adjunctive therapy for augmenting rehabilitation efficacy.
