Abstract
•Magnetocaloric properties of hydrogenated Gd, Tb and Dy were investigated.•The MCE measured by direct and indirect methods.•Magnetic ordering temperature increases for Gd-H and decrease for Tb-H and Dy-H samples.•Sets of R-H compositions with equal MCE values are found.•The presence of the second RH2 phase leads to increasing of MCE.
