Abstract
The association of Azospirillum brasilense and wheat can promote part of the nitrogen required by the plant. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the interaction of the inoculation of wheat seeds with Azospirillum brasiliense and nitrogen on the physiological quality of the seed and the initial performance of wheat seedlings. In the experiment, wheat seeds with and without inoculation with Azospirillum brasilense, in interaction with five nitrogen doses (0, 40, 80, 120 and 160 kg ha(-1)) were evaluated. The seeds were evaluated for: the determination of the degree of humidity, and the germination tests; Root length, aerial part and total seedlings; Fresh and dry mass; And emergence of seedling and seedling height at 16 days. By means of the obtained results it is concluded that the inoculation of wheat seeds with Azospirillum sp. Is favorable to germination, when together with the nitrogen up to the dose of 40 kg per hectare. Dosages of up to 80 kg N ha(-1), in seeds with Azospirillum sp. Favors the total length of wheat seedlings; And in the emergence and height of wheat seedlings at 16 days after sowing, regardless of whether or not they were inoculated with Azospirillum sp.
