Synthesis of carbon-coated Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 and its electrochemical performance as anode material for lithium-ion battery

Abstract
Carbon-coated Li4Ti5O12 sample has been synthesized by sol-gel method. The final product sintered at 850°C with 4.7% residual carbon demonstrates excellent performance with a discharge specific capacity of 163.5mAh/g after 100 cycles at 1C. Furthermore, the sample also shows excellent rate stability with discharge specific capacity of 110.9mAh/g and 80mAh/g at 5C and 10C.
