Abstract
•Ceres has heavily and lightly cratered terrains, and both have crater size-frequency distributions whose shapes are very similar to those of the heavily cratered surfaces on the Moon and terrestrial planets.•Approximately 85% of Ceres’ surface has been resurfaced since the end of the era of heavy bombardment.•The Ceres cratering record is consistent with an impact history that includes the period of Late Heavy Bombardment of the terrestrial planets caused by projectiles originating from Main Belt Asteroids.
