Whole-genome prediction of reaction norms to environmental stress in bread wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.) by genomic random regression

•We developed a genomic random regression model to predict how well an individual is adapted to an environmental stress.•The factorial regression genomic best linear unbiased predictor (FR-gBLUP) makes more accurate predictions than the genomic additive model.•The FR-gBLUP can be used to predict whether an untested individual is adapted to untested environments.
