Liquid crystal polymer (LCP) substrates are used to design 3D conformal antenna elements in laser direct structuring technology (LDS) for MIMO and phased-array applications. Perspectives for energy-oriented built-in-self-test (BIST) compensation solutions are drawn for multiphysics electromagnetic-thermal-mechanical co-design of chip-package-PCB systems undergoing stochastic changes in their integration environments. Broadband equivalent circuit models accounting for radiation effects are extracted for proper random EM-fields-circuit co-simulation which can give consideration to random variations in impedance and noise matching networks.
