摘要

•Shielding features against photons and neutrons have been determined for quarry tuff.•Calculations were validated for 0.662 MeV photons by measuring the attenuation coefficient with a NaI(Tl) based spectrometer.•Ka and H∗(10) due to photon transmission were calculated.•Shielding against 241AmBe neutrons were calculated using MCNP5.•Erot and H∗(10) due to neutrons were calculated.
