Abstract

•PEG hydrogel tethered and amino-acids grafted onto PVDF membrane.•Membrane was fabricated in mild conditions less than 20 mins.•Membrane mechanical strength decline upon grafting is slight.•Modified membranes have much lower protein adsorption.•Modified membranes show better hemocompatibility.
