In conventional basis pursuit inversion, a constant wavelet was used to build the dictionary for stationary seismic trace assumption. Considering the effect of noise and attenuation on seismic data, a non-stationary inversion scheme was proposed in this paper by including several generalized wavelets all at once which means a more reasonable and complete wavelet dictionary was built for basis pursuit decomposition. Generalized wavelets were estimated from power spectrum of seismic data along time axis which could represent the seismic data better and seismic phase would be considered. Synthesized data test and field data test show that non-stationary BPI would give better resolution and geological continuity in comparison to stationary BPI.
