However, it has great significance for subtle reservoirs exploration. This paper analyses the characteristics of potential strike-slip fault in detail, and summarizes its main features such as sudden change of stratum attitude, zonation of the subsidiary faults and so on. Then we choose short wavelength curvature attribute which is suitable for the scale of faults to identify it. Practical application showed that short wavelength most positive curvature can better identify this potential strike-slip fault that developed in Lvda area. During the application, we use 3 times iterating structure oriented median filter to raw seismic to enhance signal-to-noise ratio of the results. Finally, with the help of this method, we effectively find more trap area of Lvda structure and open up a new prospect for Liaodong Bay Basin. And also this research becomes a guideline of seismic interpretation in this area.
